'I have learned a HUGE amount and updated on precious knowledge'

What will be covered?

The telephone is being used more and more by nurses as well as doctors in
primary care. For triage, consultation and follow-up; in the daytime as well as out of hours. This has forced a move from ad-hoc use of the telephone to a planned and managed one and yet few doctors or nurses have ever had any training in this important area of clinical effectiveness.

P
articipants will get a chance to reflect on their own practice and compare notes. There will be presentations of the latest research relevant to telephone consultations and helpful suggestions to practice in focused practical exercises.

Our goal is to help you find and overcome difficulties and to leave you
with practical ideas to enhance your own telephone contacts with patients.

Delegates are invited to explore their own challenges, compare notes with colleagues and learn some theory - and then practise some important and useable techniques in small group structured exercises. You should leave with a number of new ideas, words and
phrases to make more headway with patients - and to make these consultations less frustrating for all parties!
